Born in Alameda, CA to the late Battista and Angelina Cipresso.  Catherine was a loving wife of the late Louie DiGiulio of 62 years.  She was the loving and caring Mother of Steve and Joe DiGiulio, Mary Giovannetti-Sanchez, daughters-in law, Shelly and Connie DiGiulio and son-in -law, Dave Sanchez; Grandmother/Noni  of Steve Jr., Kevin Mesa, Dominick and Derek DiGiulio, Amy DiGiulio Medina, Andrew DiGiulio, Michael and Christopher Giovannetti and  Anthony, Margery and Joey DiGiulio; Great Grandmother of four granddaughters, Mackenzie and Zabrina Mesa , Catherine Giovannetti  and Isabelle Medina; beloved Sister to Pete Cipresso  and her late sisters  Marie Sandroni and Joanna Vigna and her late Brothers-in law Bruno Sandroni and Luciano Vigna.  She is also Auntie Cathy to many nieces & nephews.

Catherine passed away in her home in Tracy, on February 25 2017 at the age of 91.  The whole family with Kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren were able to celebrate her Valentine Birthday two weeks prior.

Catherine spent most of her life in Alameda raising her children and upon Louies' retirement, they moved shortly thereafter to Brentwood.  While Catherine was in high school, her mother passed suddenly and she was asked to leave school by her father to help raise her two year old brother and help with the household.  Her father passed two years after her mother and Catherine went to work at the Del Monte Cannery in Oakland.  She spent the following years helping her grandmother with household chores and raising her younger siblings.

Catherine met Louie at the Fratalanza Club in Oakland and they married May 21,1950.  They enjoyed many years attending activities at the Alpicella Club and spending time at their vacation home in South Lake Tahoe.  They were married 62 years.  She will be truly missed by all.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 after 5:00 p.m. and attend the Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Greer Family Mortuary and Cremation Services, 2694 Blanding Ave., Alameda and attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Church, 3101 Van Buren St., Alameda.  Catherine will be laid to rest with her husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
