Glenn Gramstad of Alameda, CA passed away peacefully on March 3, 2017. Glenn was born on July 20, 1928 in Climax, MN to Leonard and Olga (Estenson) Gramstad.  He graduated from Climax High School and worked at various jobs across the United States before serving his country as a deep sea diver in the US Army. He married Mercedes Pratt on Christmas Eve in 1962 in Eureka, CA. Glenn’s specialized work in construction took him to countries and adventures all over the world. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 3 and a congregant at First Presbyterian Church in Alameda. He endeared himself to all who had the good fortune to know him and was deeply loved by his family and friends.

 

 Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lemar Gramstad, sister, Doris (Gramstad) Hegland, and his loving wife, Mercedes (Pratt) Gramstad.  He is survived by his sister, Ruth Barfuss, of Winner, SD, three nephews, three nieces, and numerous cousins. 

 

Family and friends are invited to visit from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and attend a celebration of Glenn’s life at 4:00 p.m.  on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Greer Family Mortuary and Cremation Services, 2694 Blanding Ave., Alameda, CA.
