Alfredo G. Tolentino

Alfredo Tolentino, affectionately called Edong, Fred, Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa, was born in Lawy, Capas, Tarlac, Philippines on August 19, 1931 to Benigno and Gregoria Tolentino.  He attended high school and college in Cagayan, Luzon and graduated on the Dean’s List from the College of Alameda.

Alfredo enlisted in the USCG in October 1955 and was deployed to Boston, MA shortly after.  He married Socorro Capitulo on May 9, 1957 in Angeles City, Philippines.  She joined him in the United States in 1959, where they raised five daughters: Grace, Karen, Beverly, Gail, and Jennifer.

He proudly served 20 years in the US Coast Guard; and completed a second career of 17 years at the US Postal Office.

Alfredo is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, five daughters, fourteen grandchildren,
and six great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to the services that will be held in honor of Mr. Tolentino.  Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24th at Greer Family Mortuary and Cremation Services from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. and the Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 25th at St. Albert the Great Church at 11:00 a.m.
