Tribute

Anania (Ana/Aning) Marlan

It is with heavy hearts that we share that our Mother, Ana Marlan, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by many family members.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete, who died in 1980, and daughter, Leonora, who died in 2007.

Mom’s greatest joy was cooking, gathering and celebrating events and holidays at her home with her large family and friends.  She loved watching baseball and football and after retiring from Abbott, she enjoyed dancing and exercising at the Mastick Senior Center with her many friends.  Mom was a resident of Alameda, CA for more than 60 years, a member of the Bohol Circle of Alameda for many years and a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Basilica.

Ana is survived by her son, Ernesto (Frances) and daughters, Lourdes (Ron), Lillian, Anita (Dale), and Janeé (Bryan).  She was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Ernesto, Edwardo Sr., Ernie, Christina (Don), Janeé, Manya (Robin), Stefanie (Dylan), Angelina, and Kenneth; 17 great grandchildren: Kennyth, Victoria, Edwardo Jr., Ariel, Jayden, Trinity, Andrew, Abby, Ciara, Alia, Ianna, Teya, Selina, Shane, Jaseon, Jayden and Chance; 5 great-great grandchildren: Isabelle, Mariana, Joselynn, Aleah and Shaliya and many nieces and nephews in the Philippines.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service limited to immediate family, will be held on January 4th, and Mom will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Oakland.

She will be deeply missed by her loving family members and her many friends.
