Ann Parrington, resident of Alameda, California passed away peacefully at age 102 in Alameda. Her beloved husband, Howard, predeceased her (1984) as did three brothers and two sisters.
Ann leaves four children who adored her: Jean of Alameda; Howard (Patricia) of Fernandina Beach, Florida; Raymond (Marian) of Absecon, New Jersey; and Judy of Lincoln, California. Cherished Grandmother of Larry Quinn (Tiffany), Melissa Conaty (Mike), Lisa Parrington (Arun Khosla ), Dennis Parrington, Howard Parrington, Kathryn Matuliewich (Jason) and Kevin Parrington (Danielle). Dear Great Grandmother of eight. Ann also had a special bond with her Nephew and Godson, Frank O’Donnell (Jeanne) as well as Nieces Janet Pitts and Patricia Dioguardi.
Ann grew up in New York City and raised her family in Carle Place on Long Island. She retired from Macys, New York and subsequently lived in Alameda for the last 34 years. Twenty-eight of these years she lived in the St. Frances Condominiums among many friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Elders Inn for their incredible compassion and kindness. A special thanks to Jackie McGill of Vitas Hospice for her care of Ann and wise counsel to the family.
The family will hold a private Celebration and Remembrance of Ann’s life in October.
