Born on March 22, 1921 to the late John Terrones and Grace Salazar in Tecoman, Colima, Mexico, Bertha passed away on January 2, 2018 at her home in Alameda.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Severdia in 1999.  She is survived by her children, Marilyn, Virginia (George) and Sandy (Bill); seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed.

Bertha was active with the YLI, Catholic Daughters and St. Joseph’s Garden Club and Altar Society.  She enjoyed bible study, her book club, dancing, playing Bingo and taking trips to Reno.  She travelled extensively all over the world by taking land tours and cruises. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services in Bertha’s honor on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Basilica, 1109 Chestnut St., Alameda.  Bertha will be available for viewing at 8:45 am.  The Rosary and Divine Mercy will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass at 10:00 a.m.
