Dear David's family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of David's passing this week. He hired me in my position at the University of California and I worked with him for 22 years. I will always be grateful that he gave me this opportunity as I enjoyed my work and my co-workers and couldn't have had a better career. Since our retirements, I had not heard from him or seen him at any UC events; so I had no idea he was even ill.

My prayers and thoughts are with you, Mariu, and all of your family. David was a dear friend. He produced all the audio CDs for our children's chorus. How he loved to come and listen to the kids. David was so very special. He kept making me be more perfect in the artwork, etc we worked on. I loved his sense of humor. His laughter. It was contagious. I am going to miss him so very much.
