Dorothy I. Carlson

Born to the late Noah and Etta Garrett on June 12, 1928 in Elk City, OK, Dorothy passed away in Alameda on January 9, 2022.  She is the beloved mother of Gail, Ron and Don Carlson; adoring grandmother to Krystal, Robert, Tyler and Nick.  She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Bob.  Bob and Dot were most happy on the dance floor and dining with friends.

She came to Alameda at the age of 16, finished high school here, worked at the Naval Air Station garage, married, raised three kids and worked 28 years at the Alameda Naval Exchange.   She spent her retirement years helping raise Ryan, Krystal, Robert, Tyler and Nick.  Each and every one are good, smart and her love will always glow brightly in each of them, they are her legacy.  The country girl came out in her when she was in her garden, especially growing her tomatoes and roses.  Dot will be dearly missed.
