Dorothy Vida Reiss

Dorothy “Vida” Reiss, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, resident of Alameda for 88-1/2 years, passed on April 20th after a short illness. 

Vida was born in Oakland to parents Vincent and Dorothy Lopolito. She was preceded in death by her husband Roland H. Reiss (d.2002) and her two sons Ken Reiss and Cliff Reiss in 2020. 

Vida is survived by her daughter Cindy Trumpower and daughter-in-law Kathy Reiss, along with 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and many cousins. 

Vida was the supervisor at the Alameda High School cafeteria, worked at the Encinal High School cafeteria, and was previously a homemaker. 

Services were private. Donations in Vida’s memory can be given to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Foundation Oakland.
