Born in Tanay, Rizal, Philippines on July 11, 1932 to the late Vincente and Marcelina Reyes, Ernie passed away on August 8, 2017 at the age of 85.  Ernie is survived by his beloved wife, Ursula Reyes; his ten children:   Marietta, Ernesto, Jr., Willie, Leanora, Anthony, Rolando, Marie, Arnold, Myrna and Gary; twenty-six grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Magdalena; and brother, Edgardo.

Ernie served in the U.S. Navy and retired at the Naval Air Station in Alameda after twenty years of service.   After that, he worked at the Alameda Housing Authority for sixteen years.   Ernie and his wife Ursula owned and operated Ralph’s Market in Alameda since 1990.

Ernie’s hobbies included fishing, woodworking and carpentry, landscaping, gardening and watching football; he also loved animals.  Ernie loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandkids.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services for Ernie.  The Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17th from 4-9PM with the Vigil Service at 7PM at Greer Family Mortuary and Cremation Services, 2694 Blanding Ave., Alameda.  The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 18th at 11:15AM at St. Joseph Basilica, 1109 Chestnut St., Alameda.   Mr. Reyes will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
