Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on September 15, 1921, Joe passed away on August 3, 2017 with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian Cid; his devoted children: Gerry (Mila), Pike (Dolly), Michelle (Dave), John, Nick (Rowena), Lani and Brian (Neliza); grandchildren: Melissa (Mike), Joshua (Lanette), Justin, Jonard (Michelle), Jiji (Vince), Jeff (Kelly), JonJon (Crystal), Monique (Mike), Yves, Tatiana, Johnwin (MaryCel), Christina (Steve), Jonathan, Christopher, Alan, Aimee (Som), Jared, Jasmine, Jade, Alyssa and AJ; great grandchildren: Brayden, Dylan, Lana, Julian, Jorrell, Nia, Gyanna, Josiah, Luke, Jaylin, Joseph, Julianna, Makaio, Devon, Zaelyn, Jaden, Caden, PJ, Ciarra, Micah, Nico, Nian and Tylee. He was preceded in Death by his brothers Glicerio and Virgilio, and sister Filipinas.
Joe left the Philippines and moved to Guam when he accepted a job with MasDelCo/US Navy. He later became the manager for Royal Lanes Bowling Center, and was also a top-selling agent for Great Commonwealth Insurance. He was President of the Guam Lions Club International, and was the Founder and Director of the Guam Bowler’s Federation. Tennis, Bowling, Softball and Fishing were among his favorite pastimes. His family moved from Guam to Colorado, Illinois, Alameda and finally retired in Modesto.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, August 12th at Greer Family Mortuary and Cremation Services, 2694 Blanding Ave., Alameda. The Rosary will begin at 11:00 AM and the Funeral Service will begin at 12:30 PM.
