Lance Hansford

Born in Alameda to Robert K. Hansford, who preceded him in death when Lance was just five months old in 1968. His mother Lorrie R. Proctor shared raising Lance with his step-father Lt. James Keith Proctor of the Alameda Police Force, who also preceded him in death in 1988.

Lance is survived by his brother, David J. Wysocki, and sister, Barbara A. Wysocki. He is also survived by his nephew, Brandon J. Foster. His sister Sharon Wysocki preceded him in death in 2004.

Lance is also survived by his step sisters, Kathleen Southworth and Cherie Wiliamson, both from North Carolina.

Lance was an avid Formula One race car fan. In his younger days, he was an amateur racer. He enjoyed fixing and sailing his own sail boat until his move across the Bay, joining the computer industry which grew from Silicon Valley to travels in the USA. His move to Pacifica took him to computer sales for Porche Auto Parts in South San Francisco in the late 90s until his move back to Alameda.

He loved to ride motorcycles, particularly his Kawasaki on weekends either alone or with a group from the Bay Area. The group would often go for a run for a weekend or a week up to Oregon, enjoying the ocean, forests, and beauty there.

Lance was a gentle soul to his family and friends. He was also helpful, caring, and available to help them in love. He is dearly missed.

A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Basilica, with a committal at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland.
