Tribute

Lisa Marie Kibbee Reichert passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024 at her Alameda, California home in the loving presence of family and friends. She was born in 1961 to Catherine and Gary Kibbee in Kansas City, Kansas and spent part of her early childhood in West Lafayette, Indiana before settling with her family in Los Alamitos, California. Lisa attended Los Alamitos High School and then the University of California, Riverside where she graduated with a B.S. degree in Biochemistry and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

She met Dennis Reichert at Riverside in 1979 and, after a whirlwind seven-year courtship, they married on October 11, 1986. Together, they had two children, Annalise and Keith, and made a wonderful life in Alameda in their awesome Burbank-Portola neighborhood.

Lisa had a lifelong passion for science and built a distinguished 33-year career in biotechnology equipment sales. She traveled extensively for her work in the United States, Europe, South America, and the Cold War-era Soviet Union. Lisa was renowned as a “closer” – she once made a sale despite a machine catching fire during a demo at a prospective customer’s lab. Not surprisingly, she earned multiple Inner Circle awards for outstanding sales achievement.

Lisa was quite active at both St. Joseph Basilica parish and St. Joseph Elementary School, which her children attended from kindergarten through eighth grade. She was a Girl Scout troop co-leader, Cub Scout troop co-leader, and helped coach Annalise’s undefeated and three-time Oakland Diocese champion school volleyball team. Lisa also served a term as PTG president at St. Joseph Elementary and taught CLW classes for St. Joseph Basilica.

Lisa was passionate about giving back to the community and regularly volunteered for Alameda Meals on Wheels and the Midway Shelter of Alameda. She was an avid hiker, gardener, and traveler and inspired similar interests in her children. An ardent supporter of the San Francisco Giants, Lisa collected many bobbleheads and other Giants memorabilia that she held dear.

Lisa is survived by her husband Dennis, children Annalise and Keith, parents Gary and Catherine, brother Russell Kibbee, niece Ava Kibbee, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
