Mercy was a beautiful person both inside and out and her wonderful smile is missed here at Nixon. Remembering Mercy, our night angel who was there to help us out in the evenings, sharing work and dinner, always a pleasure to be with and a great team member. Miss you Mercy and thinking of you with love and peace and smiles!

Pops, who knew when we met in September 2001, that we would become lifelong friends? You were my mentor, my running/cycling nemesis and buddy, one of my closest confidants, my extended ohana, my sister. I will never forget the long chats we had about life, how much we cried, how much we believed, and how much we loved. Although life feels completely empty and I miss you every day, I am comforted knowing you will always be in the special memories we shared, kept deeply in my heart. Thank you for being one of the greatest life teachers to me. Rest in love Pops. You are incredibly missed. Aloha 'oe,. Until we meet again.

To Mercy's Family and Friends, I was privileged to work with Mercy from the beginning of her tenure at Nixon Peabody (back when it was Lillick & Charles). Mercy was such a bright light, always smiling with something sweet and friendly to say. She shouldered her illness with positivity and hope, and was determined not to let it undermine her spirit and joy of life. She was an example to us all and we miss her terribly. May her memory give you comfort.

I spent many late nights with Mercy on the 19th floor of Nixon. Though I haven't seen her in several years now, I can still hear her laugh so clearly. She was a beatiful person and a rare and genuine source of joy. I'm glad to have known her. My deepest condolences to her family and her many many friends.

Mercy was one of the best aunts I have ever had. She made me laugh, on the inside and out. She made me cry a comforting cry. A cry that makes you happy again, a cry that lets you feel safe. She was my fun, my life, my aunt. I don't consider her gone. I don't feel that she's left. For I feel her next to me right now. She's watching over me, over all of us, and she always will and I will do my best to do everything I can to make her proud.

I work with Mercy for years at Wilson Sonsini and loved all her energy. She was such a giving person whether it be to her family, playing for the elderly and being there when a friend really needed her. I hope her family is comforted by all the great memories and love she left behind. Betty

Heaven just got a new beautiful ángel named Mercy. I was deeply saddened hearing about muy friend Mercy"s passing.

I met Mercy around the end of eight grade. I hung around her house entre summer with her younger sisters Los, Mary and Susan. We looked up to her as a sirt of older sister.

I remember Mercy loved to dress up and loved hanging out with all her friends (a.k.a. "The Prescious Pinays").

I was ver y close with her family during that time and i went con a family trio to San Diego and had a blast speaking gibberish with her sisters durring the drive down to San Diego.

Mercy left us way toó soon and all that I can think is that God must have something real importante for her to do. I will never forget Mercy and I am praying that her family finds the strength to get through these tough times.

May God take her in his loving arms and may he bless her beautiful soul.
With love always,
Debbie Nobrega

Hey Jim, this is john Weller. I'm so sorry to hear of Mercy's passing. She was way too young to have passed away. I don't even know what happened. Did she get an illness? I'm stunned. Teri got a hold of me to tell me Mercy had passed away. She didn't know how it happened either. I tried calling you when I heard about it, but the numbers I have for you are no longer working. I hope you're well Jimmy. Your little girl must be a like 13 now. Time is flying. Hope all is well with you and yours. Is your old friend Bill still alive? I recall he had a very deep love and respect for Mercy as well. And if you want to call me, here is my number. (559) 796-2986. I have missed talking to you over the years my friend. God speed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mercy's family and the extended NP family. I got to know mercy quite well over the 7+ years I worked with her and she was truly a special, one of a kind human being. A beautiful smile, infectious laugh (which resonated down most of the 19th floor hallways), great sense of humor and someone you just simply wanted to be around. We shared lots of music and stories and she made the late nights much more fun and enjoyable. She will be dearly missed by all but never forgotten.

Mercy's passing is horrible news. I moved from the Bay Area years ago and only found out of her passing through a friend. I don't even know how she passed at such a young age. But she was a women I truly respected. A great piano player, warm, friendly always quick to flatter those around her and laugh. And could perform tasks simultaneously while carrying on a conversation while others could only do one. God bless her, and as her family and friends mourn her loss here, I am sure she is right now attending a loved filled homecoming with relatives on the other side of the veil.. "“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” John 14:1-4

There will always be a place at table for you, now and forever. We missed you the moment He welcomed you home.

Mercy and I had the honor of celebrating our 30th, 40th, and 50th Birthdays together. Mercy was like my twin and I hate to think our celebrations will wait now until we meet again. I remember most her smile and laugh. She was a hard worker till her last days. She was the strongest woman I have ever known. She adored her family and loved all children. She was God fearing and devout in her religion. Running was her passion and now she is free in body and spirit to win any race there may be above. She was and is my angel forever. I was blessed to have her in my life for the past 30 years.
