Remedios “Meding” Morales, 92, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2018 in her home in Alameda, California. She was born in Manila, Philippines on October 24, 1925 to Bruno and Leonora Enriquez.

Meding migrated to the United States in June 1959 with her husband, Agustin, who was in the U.S. Navy, along with their five children; at that time Lourdes was 14, Tessie 12, Rey 9, Alice 8, and Eddie 5. Two more children were added to the family with the birth of Joe in 1962 and Tony in 1969. Meding was a strong woman that carried the responsibilities and pressures of being a military wife. She was an exceptional wife and mother that took charge during the times her husband was periodically away overseas. She held the family together through numerous military relocations to different cities. She had a passion for cooking Filipino dishes and desserts mastering them with her unique flair. For a few years, Meding was employed at The North Face, Inc. as a seamstress. She also loved gardening especially tending to her roses and growing vegetables.

Meding is survived by her daughters: Teresita (Art) Posas, Alice (Rey) Estacio; and sons: Rey (Zen) Morales, Eddie (Ginny) Morales, Joe (Maggie) Morales, and Tony Morales. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lourdes in 1999, and her husband Agustin in 2006.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services in honor of Remedios Morales. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Greer Family Mortuary and Cremation Services, 2695 Blanding Ave., Alameda. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 30th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Basilica, 1109 Chestnut St., Alameda. She will be laid to rest at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward.
