Ronald J. Simon

Ronald J. Simon died January 18, 2021 in San Francisco from complications following heart surgery.

Ron was born February 17, 1941 in Oakland, CA.  He went on to graduate from Bishop O’Dowd High School (1959) and the University of San Francisco with a degree in English.

He enlisted in the Navy upon graduation, serving during the Vietnam War, retiring as a Lt. Commander.  He then initiated a career as a federal administrator with the DoD, Bureau of Reclamation, IRS and Census Bureau.  

Ron enjoyed playing the piano, was a passionate reader of spy novels and avid baseball and football fan.  He invested much time with family, volunteered with local literacy projects and served on the Advisory Board of the Mastick Senior Center.

Ron is survived by wife Andrea Gould, son Frank Simon and his mother. He also is survived by his sister Victoria Simon Berg, niece Blythe Berg, stepdaughter Emily Gould Sullivan, stepson Daniel Hayes Gould and grandchildren John, Claire and Paula.

Family services will be planned for a future date.

He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
