Tanya J. Alexieff

Tanya was born in San Jose and raised in Alameda. She was the youngest of three children. She is survived by her sister Jayne Bush of Fort Bragg, nieces Kathie and Jessica, and nephew Michael. She was also great Aunt to Danielle, Chase, Richard, Sean, Jade, Caelan, and Carson. She is also survived by her great friend Carol of over 50 years.

Tanya graduated  from Notre Dame High School, and received her college degree from Sacramento State. She began a career in teaching but soon changed, working for the Del Monte Corporation for over 16 years. After Del Monte, Tanya spent many years working with children through her church and Girl Scouts. 

“Auntie” Tanya had a great love for all things Disney. She cherished her trips to Disneyland with her nieces and nephew, and a trip to DisneyWorld with her brother. Her home is filled with Disney memorabilia. She loved and valued her family dearly. 

Tanya was devoted to her faith. She had a huge heart and shared her love with everyone she met. She loved all the people that would call and visit, it always brightened her day. She had a fantastic memory and enjoyed being around people. She will be missed. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 12th at 2pm, at Central Baptist Church, 2133 Central Ave., Alameda.  In lieu of flowers, she asked that people donate to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
