Adriana was born in Platte, South Dakota to Arent and Johanna Brink.  Her father died when she was 10 years old, and the family moved to Ripon, California to be near relatives .   She met Frederick “Del” Roubos after his discharge from the Air Force and they were married in 1948.  They lived in Alameda their entire marriage.

During their 65 years of marriage, Adriana and Del felt blessed by their four children, Judy McGregor, Jim Roubos, June Roubos and Joanne Roubos; five grandchildren, Andrew McGregor, Aaron McGregor, Kara McGregor, Jeff Roubos and Becky Curnow; and two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Alina McGregor. 

Throughout her life, Adriana was dedicated to her family.  When her daughter Joanne was born, much of Adriana’s energy and time were devoted to Joanne’s special needs associated with Down’s syndrome.   In many ways she was ahead of her time in her determined and forward-thinking advocacy for Joanne. 

Adriana was also devoted to the Alameda Christian Reformed Church, which was like a second family to her.  She sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, worked in the nursery, helped out in the kitchen, and did countless other tasks, many of these activities well into her eighties.  She enjoyed extending hospitality to others; often after church on Sundays, she and Del invited visiting servicemen to their home for a much-welcomed home-cooked meal.  She enjoyed needlework and crocheted blankets for each of her children and grandchildren. 

Adriana was preceded in death by her husband Del, and three siblings, Wolena Smink, Johnny Wever and Bernie Wever.

Adriana will be remembered for her warm smile, loving and generous spirit and faithfulness to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Donations can be made to the Alameda Christian School and the Sierra Salem Christian Home in Modesto.
